WIN Enterprises Announces 4U Carrier-Grade Quad Processor Networking Solution with Sandy Bridge-EP/Ivy Bridge-EP Xeon E5-4600 Series processors and Max 128 LAN Ports



NORTH ANDOVER, MA, March 20, 2013: WIN Enterprises, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of embedded controllers and platforms for OEMs, announces the PL-80480, a quad Intel® Sandy Bridge-EP/Ivy Bridge-EP Xeon 4S processor, 4U rackmount platform developed to provide maximum performance and networking capacity scalable to 128 GbE LAN ports. OEMs can select Intel® E5-4600 Series processors with four, six, and eight cores.

The Intel® QuickPath Interconnects running up to 8.0 GT/s speeds combine with quad Intel® Xeon® E5-4600 series processors (Socket R) to provide reduced cross-socket memory I/O latencies and increased datastream throughput. Four E5-4600 series processors with up to 32 cores, 80MB cache and PCIe 3.0 interface provide a total of 160 PCIe lanes with up to 8Gbps per lane. Each CPU socket supports 4 DDR3 channels with speeds up to 1600/1866 MHz and a maximum capacity of up to 256 GB of ECC memory employing the latest LR DIMM technology.

The Intel® 7 Series C604 chipset supports I/O and high speed mass storage utilizing two 3.5” SATA hard disks or solid state drives. The PL-80480 platform offers a range of robust LAN expansion modules, such as one for 10 Gigabit SFP+; a Gigabit copper module with by-pass; and Gigabit fiber port modules that combine to provide the ability to configure to a maximum LAN capacity of 128 GbE ports.
