Intel Atom C2000 (formerly codenamed Rangeley) Desktop Platform with Eight Copper GbE LAN

NORTH ANDOVER, MA, October 7, 2014: WIN Enterprises, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of embedded controllers and platforms for OEMs, announces the PL-80590, a Desktop platform designed to support secure network applications. The device supports the next generation Intel® Atom™ Processor C2000 processor family (formerly codenamed Rangeley) with 8/4/2 cores;. The new platform comes with a robust complement of security features including  Intel® AES New Instructions (Intel® AES-NI), Intel® QuickAssist Technology and Intel® Streaming SIMD Extension (Intel® SSE) for hardware accelerated data encryption and decryption.

  • Supports Intel 22nm Atom C2000 processors (formerly codenamed Rangeley)
  • Maximum 8GB DDR3/L 1333/1600MHz System Memory
  • Maximum 8 GbE Copper LAN ports via PCIe x4/x1/SGMII
  • Intel® QuickAssist for Cryptographic Hardware Acceleration

The platform supports four DDR3 1333/1600MHz unbuffered ECC or non-ECC DIMM sockets up to 16GB of memory. The compact platform offers storage interfaces supporting 2.5”/3.5" SATA 3.0 6Gbps hard drives and CompactFlash™. To enhance network security performance, the PL-80590
offers optional Intel QuickAssist technology. QuickAssist provides hardware-level cryptographic acceleration. This enables the reallocation of CPU computing power for function such as higher-layer packet processing.

This platform offers 8 GbE Ethernet ports via PCIe accessible from the front-panel. To prevent network problems during and unplanned shut downs, PL-80590 supports two segments of LAN bypass function through WDT and GPIO pin definitions. For local system management, maintenance and diagnostics; the front panel features dual USB 2.0 ports, one RJ-45 console port and LED indicators that monitor power and storage device activities.
